The Coronado School of the Arts Foundation is searching for a dynamic leader who is also an experienced fundraiser. The foundation provides support to The Coronado School of the Arts, the nationally acclaimed arts conservatory program at Coronado High School.
Known to the school community as “CoSA,” the program draws high school students from across San Diego County for intensive training in one of six disciplines. Students choose to study dance, digital media, instrumental music, musical theater, technical theater, or visual arts. In order to make this award winning public school program possible, the foundation has to raise substantial funds from a variety of sources. Because of the demands of providing ongoing financial support to CoSA, the foundation’s board of directors is looking for an executive director who will also serve as chief fundraiser.
“This is an outstanding opportunity for the right person to help us build the financial resources to take a highly successful program to the next level,” according to CoSA Foundation co-president, Sondi Arndt.
Sherry Beckhart is the foundation’s other co-president and the mother of a former student. She wants people to know that, “the work of the foundation makes a real difference in the lives of young men and women pursuing a career in the arts. We are a volunteer organization, but we need a skilled professional to lead our efforts in the fundraising world.”
Interested applicants — especially those passionate about the arts and education — that are experienced fundraisers with leadership experience should send a resume and cover letter to the CoSA Foundation’s transition consultant, Irv Kass, at the email address [email protected].
