The Nado Select GU9 were crowned champions of Hotspurs Labor Day Soccer Tournament Gu9 Silver bracket. The team defeated the Hotspurs USA GU9 Red in the final 2-1. Lilly Cuthbert was the leading goal scorer for Nado throughout the tournament with 3 goals, including the game-winner in the closing minutes of the championship game. Paloma Goulding and Catie Ward also scored for Nado during the three day tournament.
Coach Jerry Ruiz had the following to say, “I was very proud of what the girls accomplished this weekend. We have been working on switching the ball at practice and they really applied what they learned at practice to the games we played this weekend. We really worked like a cohesive unit and it was fun to see the girls really connect with each other on the field. I have high expectations for this team for the upcoming Presidio season.”
