I was just informed by Susan Galpin of her mom’s passing away (see message below). I befriended Mrs. Louise Beasley Galpin only two years ago, but we hit it off so well! We had lots in common to talk about – she entered and volunteered in the Coronado Flower Show in the mid-1930’s – she even saved and treasured her Red ribbon that she won, in Bottle Arrangement and was very proud to share it with me (I have attached her certificate signed by Mrs. Armand Jessop to this blog). Louise was a native Coronadan and graduated from Coronado High School and had a very rich and interesting history of Coronado. Joe Ditler had connected her with eCoronado and who in turn did an interview with her! The video was created during her last visit here and has captured a most precious time in Louise’s life in Coronado. Louise is a class act Coronadan and will always be remembered!
(LETTER FROM SUSAN GALPIN & RED RIBBON SIGNED BY MRS. ARMAND JESSOP BELOW)
Dear Nancy,
We wanted to let you know that mom passed away on April 17th. She was
doing quite well until the end of January when her health declined
rapidly.
Thank you for making her trip to Coronado so special. Mom always talked
about what a wonderful time she had — it was one of her best memories!
And, of course, we will cherish that time we had, too.
Lily and I hope to visit again someday soon.
All my best to you and yours,
Susan
