November 14th: LAST Solar Community Seminar Before Coronado Discounts Expire on 12/1/09.

Phase Two of the Solar Community Discount Program Expires on December 1st Five months after announcing his vision to transition Coronado into a solar community, resident Dan Sullivan announced that his local firm, Sullivan Solar Power, would be hosting its last community seminar before the Phase Two discount rates expire. The seminar will be taking place on Saturday, November 14. The educational presentation will go over how solar works, the rebates and incentives that are available, payback periods and will include customer testimonials. The first phase of the community discount program ended on September 1 and surpassed the 70kW milestone, which gave everyone who signed up a 7.5% discount, translating into over $42,000 worth of savings. The program closed with a total of 76,800 watts to be installed on the roofs of 20 Coronado residences. “Phase Two of the program is designed to get the community to unite more around the concept of a solar city, to work together toward a larger goal, and reap the benefits,” said Sullivan. In Phase Two of the discount program, Sullivan Solar Power is continuing to incentivize Coronado community residents who sign up. Phase Two began on September 2 and expires on December 1. Similar to Phase One, the more people who sign up, the greater the discounts are for Coronado residents. For 70kW sold, everyone receives 3.75% off their system, 100kW gets discounted 6.25% and for 150kW sold, participants will receive a 8.75% discount on their installation. These discounts are given on top of the state rebates and federal incentives that are being offered, which currently cover over 40 percent of the cost for California homeowners’ solar installations. Sullivan Solar Power will host its last seminar for Phase Two on November 14th at 1:00PM in the Coronado Community Center. After the seminar, there will be a small solar homes tour from 3:00 to 4:00PM of a few Coronado residences who have already had their systems installed and are thrilled with the results.
