Resurrection Lutheran Church of Coronado welcomes Pastor John Embree. Pastor Embree is an Intentional Interim Specialist for the Pacifica Synod of the ELCA, called to assist the congregation “in the between time” following the retirement of Pastor Jim Hallerberg after thirty-five years, and the calling of the next settled pastor. Resurrection Lutheran is located at the corner of Fifth and Orange in Coronado, with Sunday worship at 10:15 am. Pastor Embree has served many congregations in Southern California, including Lemon Grove Lutheran and Gethsemane Lutheran, San Diego. He is a graduate of California Lutheran University, Thousand Oaks, CA and Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary, Berkeley, CA. Pastor Embree grew up on a carnation ranch in Encinitas, after his father, Red Embree, retired from pitching with the San Diego Padres.
