  • Flyby Noise Alert:  The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds will provide a six-aircraft flyby of Petco Park on Monday, July 11, and Tuesday, July 12. The aircraft will arrive at noon on Monday and operate from Naval Air Station North Island, conducting two practice flybys between 2 and 4 p.m. On Tuesday, the aircraft will conduct a scheduled flyby for the All Star Game at 5:05 p.m., having left NASNI 30 minutes prior.
  • Valet Parking The new $5 valet parking program began this week along the 1300 block of Orange Avenue. Signs have been placed on Orange and Tenth to direct cars to the valet on B Avenue. In May, the City Council agreed to move forward with a three-month pilot project during the summer for a public valet service at Orange and B avenues at a cost of $5 for up to three hours. The Council agreed to convert three metered spaces on the north side of B near Orange into a new loading zone that will be used for commercial loading from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. and for the valet service from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. The Council will receive an update on the program at the August 16 meeting.

A crossing guard has been added at Third and F weekday mornings as well as at Fourth and F weekday afternoons. The safety of children is a priority for the City.
