Interested in learning more about a fantastic local group that supports children? Consider attending Chances for Children’s (CFC) upcoming meeting on May 18th. CFC’s mission is to provide assistance to children in need and they accomplish this in a variety of ways.
Each December they conduct a toy drive that benefits the children of Father Joe’s Villages. In fact, this past Christmas they celebrated their twentieth toy drive! For many years they have also supported San Pasqual Academy, a residential high school for foster teens, by providing funds to their agriculture program.
This past year CFC has broadened their support to include Coronado’s Silver Strand Elementary. CFC sponsored two children in Strand’s music program and they also provided monetary support for Operation PALS, which provides after school mentoring and homework assistance for kids in grades K-1 whose parents are deployed.
