Coronado, California, December 7, 2010 – Glorietta Bay Inn announces its win for best guest relations program in a statewide competition. The award was presented by the California Hotel & Lodging Association in its annual “Stars of the Industry” awards.

“In an industry known for high employee turnover, Glorietta Bay Inn shines precisely because of high employee retention. We are proud that 27 of our 35 employees have been at the property more than five years. Thirteen of those have been here more than 10 years. They have interacted with guests for years and actually do remember the repeat guests by name. Our employees are the reason for our success,” said LudlowGonzales.

Glorietta Bay Inn has won the award for best guest relations on a statewide or national level for eight of the past 11 years.

The Stars of the Industry awards were created more than 40 years ago by the American Hotel & Lodging Association. Glorietta Bay Inn will represent California in this year’s national competition for best guest relations program.

Glorietta Bay Inn is located in Coronado, California, overlooking the scenic Glorietta Bay and across the street from the Hotel Del Coronado. With an 11-room historic mansion and 89 contemporary inn rooms and suites, Glorietta Bay Inn combines old-world charm with modern amenities. John D. Spreckels built the historic mansion in 1908 and lived in it until his death in 1926. The mansion is a designated Coronado Historic Landmark.
