Change is coming to Coronado’s Armchair Travel Program

The Senior Center’s Armchair Travel Program is making some significant changes! Starting in July, Armchair Travel will be moving its meeting location to the Nautilus Room at the Coronado Community Center, located at 1845 Strand Way.

As a result of this transition, the regular meeting night for the series has been changed to the second Tuesday of every month. In July, the meeting will be held at the Community Center on Tuesday, July 8th. The time has also changed from 5:30 to 6:00, so mark your calendars and come prepared to enjoy July’s speaker, Bill Toone.

Mr. Toone will be presenting a talk entitled, “Gorillas in our Midst,” based on his work with the Batwa pygmy people as they struggle to share their homeland in Uganda with the highly endangered indigenous mountain gorillas. This promises to be a fascinating presentation relating to Mr. Toone’s recent encounter with wild gorillas and his insight into how humans, plants and animals can coexist. Refreshments will be served from 6:00 – 6:45 and Mr. Toone will begin his presentation at 6:45.
