Joe Ditler to Host Book Signing on July 1st in the Winn Room

The book signing will take place on Monday, July 1, 2019 at the Coronado Public Library’s Winn Room. The event starts at 6:30pm.

“Call me Ishmael…”
“It was the day my grandmother exploded.”
“I’m pretty much fucked. That’s my considered opinion.”

A “hairier” Joe Ditler.

These are some of the more memorable lead paragraphs in literature.

While I don’t consider mine great, I’m hoping for “memorable.” I am always conscious of what I write, and I love the magic when a lead paragraph works.

Some of those in San Diego media who have been brilliant with their leads over the years are John Wilkens, Pete Rowe and Mark Sauer (all still at the top of their game).

And then, there’s mine ….

“That picture in the Post Office wasn’t me. I swear. But it could’ve been, might’ve been, had I not escaped from San Bernardino. I am the proverbial caterpillar-turned-butterfly on a surfboard.”
CORONADO CONFIDENTIAL, “It Can’t Happen Here …

I hope y’all can make the book signing Monday, July 1, at the Coronado Public Library’s Winn Room. We start at 6:30 pm.
