Coronado Island Film Festival (CIFF) is recruiting members to serve on its 2019 board of directors. Three openings are available on the current board and CIFF is considering increasing its board with an additional two seats.
Applicants are asked to send a letter/resume that addresses their reasons for wanting to serve on the board and their background in such areas as the arts, promotion, education, marketing, nonprofit administration, sponsorship and donor development, the film industry, and any other relevant experience. Applications must be received by January 20 to be considered.
Board meetings are held at 5:30 p.m., the second Wednesday of each month at the Coronado Public Library, with new board members to be installed at the February 13 meeting.
Coronado Island Film Festival, a nonprofit 501 (c) (3) organization, presents a year-round schedule of activities centered around film, including but not limited to a monthly classic movie series at the Village Theatre, educational seminars presented to local middle school and high school students, and a major film festival with more than 100 movies and special events over Veterans Day weekend, this year, November 8 – 11. The festival includes studio releases, narrative film, documentaries, and shorts with student submissions included in all categories, in keeping with the festival’s mission to support educational opportunities for student filmmakers. The festival’s presenting sponsor is Hotel del Coronado, the site of its annual Celebrity Tribute dinner, with major sponsorship from the City of Coronado.
