Cops and Robbers: Vehicle Break-In Thefts and ID Fraud (11/15/18-11/20/18)

Thanks to the Coronado Police Department for providing The Coronado Times with the below information (partial list):

Crimes:

11/20/18: Petty Theft near 400 block of Orange Avenue

Victim parked his vehicle along the west curb of the location. Two weeks later, the victim noticed the left rear tire, rim, and lug nuts were missing. The value of the tire is approximately $85.

11/18/18-11/19/18: Petty Theft near 400 block of I Avenue

Overnight, the victim’s unlocked vehicle was rummaged through as it sat parked behind the residence in the alley. A child’s travel vest worth approximately $159 was stolen.

11/18/18: Grand Theft Property near 400 block of Orange Avenue

Suspect rented the living room area of the victim’s residence for eight days and left the residence with the victim’s laptop computer without permission. The total monetary loss is approximately $1,566.

11/16/18: Using Another’s Personal Identification near 700 block of Orange Avenue

Unknown suspect obtained the victim’s personal information and used it to open a Sprint telephone account and charge up $2,675.44 on the account.

11/15/18: Battery near 1400 block of Second Street

Unknown male suspect sprayed an unknown substance in the victim’s face when he opened his front door. The substance is believed to possibly be mace. The suspect fled the scene in an unknown direction.

11/15/18: Grand Theft Property near 100 block of C Avenue

Over the phone, the suspect identified himself as a Coronado Police Officer and demanded money in lieu of arrest. The victim complied and read gift card account numbers to the suspect over the phone. The value of the cards totaled to $1,000.

11/17/18: Trespassing – Misdemeanor near 1000 block of Park Place
