Crown Town Tipis and Pop Up Party Planning Let You Relax and Enjoy The Day

Crown Town Tipis, co-founded by Heather Nunnelly and Shannon Clague, is Coronado’s creative solution to a common problem. As all beach goers know, lugging your belongings to the beach through the hot and dry sand is an absolute pain. Not only do Crown Town Tipis remove that hassle, but they make the beach outing a unique experience. The tipis come in three sizes to accommodate group variations, along with pillows and blankets, simulating an at-home comfort level. Also included is cuisine prepared by Heather, creating a perfect beach outing. As stated on the website, “We wanted to be able share that therapeutic feeling of truly being able to relax and unwind. To share what we experience everyday without any of the hassle and with all the comforts of home.”

Charcuterie Board

Heather and Shannon met while working at Nothing Bundt Cakes where they had managerial roles. Heather’s involvement in Coronado pastries goes back to early days at Nado Gelato while she was in culinary school. Keeping her love for food alive, the platters for Crown Town Tipis are prepared personally by Heather. She shares, “we make everything and try to source it locally.” The food options vary based on requests. While they have standard sweet and savory option charcuterie boards, the rest of their menu varies to accommodate the theme of the event. In the month since they opened, they have put together a hot dog and s’more combination for a sweet sixteen and done a vegan style platter for a ladies event.

While sourcing local supports the food element, it is not limited to the culinary arena. Shannon says, “We work with antique shops in Coronado for the set up, and we are looking to partner with flower shops for anniversaries and other special event rentals. We want to use the best of Coronado.” The pair says that they expected to have more anniversaries, proposals, and date nights but are pleasantly surprised by the amount of larger events. Shannon uses her creative talents to add little extras to enhance the bigger events they have had, making each event unique and personal.

Sneak Peak: Pop Up Party Planning

Heather and Shannon create a perfect harmony together and it isn’t ending with Crown Town Tipis. Coming in late June/early July the duo will be rolling out “Pop Up Party Planning.” Heather shares a familiar frustration with planning her daughter’s birthday parties, “I never got to fully enjoy the party. After setting up and getting it going, I’m exhausted! I want to give that enjoyment back to parents.” Pop Up Party Planning takes care of everything from the decorations to the themed food and games. In an age where Instagram worthy parties are posted everywhere, Pop Up Party Planning makes the picture perfect vision a reality with none of the hassle. Parents can enjoy parties too!

Shannon has already created a number of theme parties ready to go, from dinosaurs to butterflies to unicorns and beyond. They are keeping with the promise of personalization found in Crown Town Tipis. Not only can they thrive in birthday party planning but they will plan most any party – from retirements to graduations to bridal brunches to baby showers, you need a party, they can pop up and plan it!
