Five Coronado Business Owners Honored by Senator Toni Atkins

Coronado residents representing four San Diego businesses were honored by Senator Toni Atkins.

Last Thursday, Senator Toni Atkins recognized small businesses in her district for their Community Impact, Innovation and Support for Local Causes. Over 15 San Diego businesses were honored as Small Businesses of the Year including these businesses owned by Coronado residents:

  • Buona Forchetta (South Park and Liberty Station), Matteo Cattaneo
  • The Coronado Times, Steve Johnson
  • Ace Hardware (Downtown & Hillcrest), Harry Schwartz
  • Root 75, Katherine Farley and Kristy Pierre

Additional honorees included Café Coyote, El Comal Restaurant, Grah Safe & Lock, Harley Gray, i.d.e.a., Kensington Café, Lestats, LIPS, Modern Times Brewery, Pesto Italian Craft Kitchen, San Diego Fly Rides, Tradesmen Pourhouse, and Unicorn Jewelers. These are all small businesses throughout the 39th District (Coronado, Del Mar, Solana Beach and most of San Diego). The event was held at the innovative 37ECB community school in San Diego.
