Coronado Scribes Poetry and Prose Weekly Feature: “Fall is in my Garden” by Channing DeVoueroix

We, the Coronado Scribes, consist of both professional and amateur writers. We have in common a desire to learn, by sharing our efforts and listening to other writers. We hold pressure-less sessions every Wednesday, at the Coronado Library conference room, starting at 1:30. Often we have guests who wish to just listen. They are welcome, and so are you. Each week on eCoronado, we feature a different piece of prose or poetry produced by one of our writers. Please feel free to comment or ask

FALL IS IN MY GARDEN

By

Channing DeVoueroix

Fall is in my garden,

Its aroma fills the air.

I see the barren rose tree,

No blossoms in her hair.

Summer is departing,

“Goodbye”, is on its way

To fill the earth with color

That leaves will soon display.

But in their fancy dancing

They will finally touch the ground,

Then leave the season silent

For snow will make no sound.

Fall is in my garden,

Its aroma fills the air

While I sit here remembering

That summer once was there.
