Two CHS Golfers Qualify for City Conference Match Play Championship

Through their play in the San Diego City Conference Tournament concluding today at Balboa Park, two members of the Coronado High girls’ golf team qualified for the conference match play championship starting Monday at Torrey Pines GC.

Sophomore Kesar Patel shot 84 Monday and 83 today, 167 overall, to earn the fourth seed. She will play 13th seed Soozy Zerbe of Point Loma High in her first match.

Also, by virtue of her play this week, Patel was named to the All-Western League second team today.

Senior captain Neyla Buil Macarty (pictured) shot 93-96–189 to earn the 12th seed. She’ll take on No. 5-seed Jordan Larocco of Point Loma.

Eight nine-hole matches Monday will reduce the field from 16 to 8, with four more head-to-head matches scheduled for Tuesday. Semifinal and final matches are scheduled for Wednesday.

San Diego Golf Report will have recaps and photos of next week’s match play action.
