The Dan McGeorge Gallery, at 1340 Orange Avenue, recently hosted its first fashion show, bringing a touch of Hollywood to the island. The show featured BritBoy Fashions, a Coronado resident’s clothing and swimsuit line.
Brian Terry, local designer and owner of BritBoy Fashions, displayed his latest summer line to a gallery full of guests as Hollywood personality Parris Harris emceed the event. A catwalk complete with pulsating music, footlights, several fashion photographers, and a dressing room staffed by a crew of hair and makeup artists from Marinella School of Beauty, transformed the gallery into a contemporary fashion hub for the 25 minute runway show. Guests were treated to complimentary beverages provided by Magners Irish Cider.
Dan McGeorge, gallery owner and internationally known photographer, hosted the two-hour Catwalk Coronado event filling the gallery not only with his artwork, but Terry’s as well. Combining Terry’s art of fashion with McGeorge’s original photographic art, the gallery presented a fun-filled unique experience for locals as well as visitors to the island.
Before the show began guests met and posed with McGeorge, Terry, Harris, and the fashion models in an interactive photo shoot at the red carpet. Then Terry’s models took their turn strutting the runway in a classic display of hip, contemporary designs, inspired by the spirit of the UK. Home grown, made in America, but with a sense of British flair, the new summer line brought with it a sleek, stylish look.
Following the runway show, some of BritBoy Fashions’ clothing, swimsuits, and hair accessories were available for purchase for guests, and a catalog of their current summer line was available for ordering.
Coming next to the Dan McGeorge gallery on Friday, June 17th, is an expansive art show featuring not only McGeorge’s internationally collected photographic art, but a wide range of works by a variety of artists from throughout the San Diego region.
