The Coronado Chamber of Commerce is pleased to introduce Kelly Scalise as its new Events & Membership Coordinator. The selection was made after careful consideration by a board hiring committee, and the Chamber officially welcomed Scalise on board May 16th.
“We are so excited to have Kelly on our team,” Coronado Chamber Executive Director Sue Gillingham said. “With her diverse background and desire to get to know this amazing community, she was the perfect choice.”
Her experience in both membership and events has prepared her for this new role at the Chamber. Scalise started her career in the hospitality industry as an event coordinator with the Marriott and worked her way up to Event Director over the course of three years, where she got her start in membership sales. After a move to Dallas, she found her passion for the nonprofit sector and began her work with the YMCA as the Director of Membership and Corporate Sales before moving on to become Associate Executive Director of the Hotel Association of North Texas. After eight years of moving and being away from her hometown in Southern California, she finally made the journey back this past year and is excited to live in downtown San Diego with her husband Davis, the Executive Chef at the Hilton Bayfront Hotel, and her Beagle Charlie. She is also excited to be just a short trip over the bridge to beautiful Coronado.
The Coronado Chamber’s board of directors and staff are looking forward to an exciting year of positive change with Scalise on board. Any questions can be directed to the Chamber’s staff at (619)435-9260 or [email protected].
