On Friday, February 5th, at 6:15pm, the Coronado Public Library will open its doors for a very special event: the annual Night at the Library. This casual and celebratory evening, hosted by the Friends of the Library, will introduce several local authors to the Coronado community.
This is the third annual Night at the Library, and the Friends hope to make it even more memorable than last year’s much-appreciated event. The evening will include food and wine by local crafters, and the Friends also invite their guests to enjoy a silent auction, special readings from local writers, and a chance to explore the library during the evening.
“We also want to share the new scholarship we are starting in honor of Susan Stark, CHS grad and Second Hand prose volunteer,” says Brenda Jo Robyn, a Friends Board Member and co-coordinator of the event. Susan’s Treasures — art and collectible items — will be featured at the silent auction with the proceeds establishing a scholarship to be annually awarded to a graduating senior whose love of travel, art, family, and reading parallels that of Susan Stark. “Susan’s Treasures are currently on display in the front of the library,” says Brenda Jo. “If you have a chance, please stop by to see her traveled life through the art she has donated to the Friends.”
“This should prove to be another wonderful Night at the Library!” concludes Brenda Jo. After all, “when else can you eat, drink, and wander around without having to whisper?”
