Installation of energy efficient LED lighting in Coronado’s Discover Wellness center

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CORONADO, CA: Featherstone, Inc. completed the installation of their LUXstar fluorescent tube replacement product for the Discover Wellness center on Coronado Island in San Diego. And today we were able to accomplish all three in one step.” The project included a quick and simple upgrade of the existing fluorescent fixtures to LED Green lighting. Areas retrofitted were the front office, several exam rooms, and to provide accent lighting in the lobby. The LED tubes accommodated several different types of ceiling fixtures and diffusers used throughout the facility. And in some cases, the increased brightness of the LEDs actually reduced the total number of bulbs needed to supply the same amount of light. The 15-Watt LED Green replacement tubes are 55% more energy efficient than the 34-Watt fluorescent tubes they replaced. The new LEDs also enhanced the office ambiance by producing a more natural daylight color coupled with a higher level of silent, flicker-free light. The LUXstar tubes utilize standard T12 and T8 fluorescent fixtures and wiring already in place, but they do not require a buzz-producing ballast to operate.
