Media Advisory: NBC Sailors partake in beach clean up

Naval Base Coronado Public Affairs Office Building 678, Suite 205 NAS North Island, CA 92135 (619) 545-8136 September 17, 2009 Release #: 09-02 Media Advisory: Naval Base Coronado, Calif. — Sailors from Naval Base Coronado will participate in the bi-annual beach clean up in coordination with the California Coastal Clean up Day for San Diego County, on the Silver Strand Training Complex beach, Sept 18, 2009 at 9 a.m. The Sailors will partake in the beach clean up from the edge of the beach adjacent to the Silver Strand Training Complex found along the Silver Strand between the City of Imperial Beach, State Beach and the City of Coronado. Being good stewards of the environment is a major concern and serious commitment for Naval Base Coronado. We share the environment with this community and are committed to ensuring we take the necessary precautions to prevent adverse effects on the environment and its’ habitat.
