This Saturday, Coronado Home Harvest, our monthly free homegrown fruit, vegetable and flower exchange resumes in front of the Ruby Room on left side lawn of the Coronado Public Library. This popular event commences with drop-off at 9am. Bring the fruits of your garden and they will be sorted and redistributed into the bags of all participants. Return at 11am and pick up a bag in the Ruby Room of the library, filled with the best of Coronado’s gardens and kitchens. If you don’t have anything growing at the moment, feel free to find a partner who cant pick for themselves. If you have no harvest or no access to a garden, please bring something homemade to share. If you bring food, bring it pre-portioned and labeled with ingredients in deference to those with food allergies. Don’t know what to do with your new produce? There will be a cooking demonstration and class at 11:00 in the Ruby Room. The class “Cooking From Your Garden” is presented by Wendy Sanger McGuire, owner of Ganosh Gourmet, Coronado food delivery service, and co-founder of CHH. She will cook four dishes from seasonal ingredients, hand out recipes and samples, and have reference materials. For more information, see www.coronadohomeharvest.org or call 619-823-4701.
