Weincakes, located at 1033 B Ave Suite102, is now open. Weincakes offers a variety of delicious cupcakes and “lite bites” which include soups, salads, and appetizer-portioned foods, all easy to take away or eat in the cozy café. It also offers nutritious breakfasts to-go such as fresh parfaits, acai bowels, and oatmeal. Soon Weincakes will be offering a wide selection of different wines, including dessert wines such as ports, sauternes, and ice wines from around the world to pair with the assorted desserts.
Owner, Toni Weinfurtner, has been living in Coronado for ten years and decided that the town could use a comfortable bistro in which to hang out, unwind, and enjoy some food and wine. Toni has been baking since she was a kid and is a self-taught baker. With the encouragement of friends and family, she decided to open Weincakes, her first business venture. Being a former flight attendant and traveling around the world have given her a great appreciation for food inspiring all types of cooking and baking. She plans to expand the menu of cupcakes with gluten-free and vegan options.
Weincakes won’t only serve cupcakes, but will also sell supplies such as homemade frostings, fancy sprinkles, and much more so customers can make their own gourmet cupcakes at home. Toni is extremely interested in doing charity and community events to help support Coronado Schools and programs. Ultimately, Weincakes is family friendly but more adult-oriented. Toni looks forward to organizing fun events such as hosting a Girls’ Nights. Weincakes is open from 9am-9pm Sunday through Thursday, and 9am-10pm Friday and Saturday. Cupcake flavors will be new and fresh daily with six to eight options from which to choose. Stop by Weincakes and check it out!
