The 47th Annual Sports Fiesta took place on Saturday, July 28 and Sunday, July 29, presented by the Optimist Club of Coronado. This year’s event was the largest in the last ten years and featured 399 participants in seven events:
- a mini-triathlon (longest continuously running triathlon in the world)
- a 5k run
- 1-mile ocean swim
- Beach Volleyball
- Pickleball
- Lawn Bowling
- Cornhole
The expanded Sports Fiesta also included an afternoon picnic and carnival games at Sunset Park.
The Optimist Club of Coronado donates to more than 50 local youth causes annually: numerous athletic teams, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, scholarship programs, oratorical and essay contests and much more. For full Sports Fiesta results or to donate, please go to optimistclubofcoronado.org.
