Pedestrian Dies after Being Struck by Vehicle on SR75 Silver Strand

At approximately 12:33am Friday morning, Coronado Police received a 911 call of a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle in the southbound lanes of SR75. Witnesses stated that a car traveling northbound SR75 pulled over near the bike path and a female exited the passenger side of the car and continued walking across northbound lanes, the center median and into southbound traffic where she was hit by a pickup truck just north of the Tarawa Rd. intersection. The 29-year-old female was pronounced dead at the scene.

All lanes were closed throughout the night and northbound lanes reopened at 4:40am and southbound lanes reopened at 5:30am.
