On Tuesday, the boys’ varsity team played a home game against Serra High School. From a defensive standpoint, there has been an excellent effort by Coronado in switching to man-to-man defenses. “Unfortunately we are not taking advantage of the very few easy opportunities we are getting,” says Coach Laaperi. “We are missing free throws, open three-pointers, and layups, and you just cannot do that and hope to be successful.” The final score of the game was 36-42, in favor of Serra.

The Coronado boys had another home game Friday against Morse High School. Unfortunately, this resulted in another close loss for Coronado, 58-61. The team’s current record is eights wins to eight losses.

Next Week’s Games:
  • Tuesday, January 23 vs. Point Loma High School @ 5:00 PM (Away)
  • Friday, January 26 vs. Scripps Ranch High School @ 7:30 PM (Away)
