I just wanted to make a comment regarding the article in the Coronado Times about dockless bicycle rentals. It sounds like your city council is collecting thoughts and opinions about letting these companies come into the community. There were several concerns that were presented at that time.

I would like to share several more things that should be considered. My husband and I live in Seattle, which now has three bicycle companies. It has not been a positive experience for the majority of us. The bikes are parked haphazardly on sidewalks, curb ramps, and in crosswalks, which make it extremely dangerous for people using wheelchairs, walkers, strollers, etc. Also, they do not provide helmets. Even though there is a helmet law in Seattle, it is not being enforced.

Coronado might consider studying other cities that have the program before making their final decision. My husband and I are senior citizens with mobility issues. Walking in our neighborhood has become a challenge with bikes laying everywhere for days at a time! Coronado is such a beautiful place, I would hate to see you having to put up with all of this!
