Young women between the ages of 14 and 18, who volunteer in their community or school, may be eligible to win a Service Award from Soroptimist International of Coronado.
The Soroptimist International of Coronado Service Award recognizes young women who make the community and world a better place through volunteer efforts such as: fighting drugs, crime and violence; cleaning up the environment; and working to help end discrimination and poverty. Volunteer actions that benefit women or girls are of particular interest.
A completed application and supporting materials must be received by March 1, 2017. The winner receives $1,000 to use at their discretion, and $500 towards a charity of their choice. Interested applicants can find the application on the Coronado Soroptimist website.
