Two Coronado Girl Scout Troops, Troop 3796 and Troop 4340, will host “Fashion with Compassion” on Sunday, June 5th, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., at the Girl Scouts San Diego Balboa Campus – Cabin 1 Amphitheater (1231 Upas Street, San Diego 92103). Individual girls, families and Girl Scout troops of all ages in Coronado and surrounding communities are welcome.
Anyone can participate in one or more activities!
- Model an outfit to be donated. Accessorize it with your own items and bring other clothing you wish to donate. Or, wear a garment or accessory made from recyclables.
- Upcycle! Display a repurposed item made from recyclables at a Show-and-Tell table. Items can be funny, for fun or for function – art, tool, toy, or just because…
- Design. Create. Innovate. Satisfy energy and conservation requirements toward earning badges and Journey awards.
- Hold a recycling contest in your troop or neighborhood and donate at the event for S.H.A.R.E. Donations of $25 or more will be honored with a S.H.A.R.E. patch.
- Make and take a project.
Bring friends, all are welcome. Come to inspire and be inspired to make the world a better place. The event will also serve as an opportunity to find out what girls and volunteers can do in Girl Scouts!
All proceeds benefit S.H.A.R.E. to enhance Girl Scouts San Diego Council programs for local girls. Admission at the door is $5 per girl. Required chaperones are FREE. For more information, contact Denise Santoro, [email protected], (619) 206-2716.
