On Saturday, June 6th, our daughter brought her two year old male mini dachshund named Guinness to Coronado Dog Beach. At 12:15 PM, while playing fetch, three large dogs including a Pitbull intercepted him as he was returning with the ball. The scene quickly went bad as the Pitbull went into attack mode and fatally injured the dachshund. As you can imagine, our family is devastated. Our daughter is trying to locate any witnesses to the attack as at the time, her focus was solely on her dog. Nothing will bring Guinness back however we all must do what we can to help prevent this from reoccurring as this could just as easily have been a small child as it was a small dog.
