The Fall season for Coronado Middle School is almost finished. The banquet celebrating the coaches, teams and character counts recipients filled Granzer Hall last night. Cross Country coach and Coronado Village Middle School faculty member Brian Schumeyer closed the night saluting the cross country teams performances this season. Both boys and girls teams won league championships over eight other schools. Brian has been coaching middle school sports for about seven years now, this is the first year both boys and girls teams won championships in the same year. He brought it home sharing with the students and parents how special our sports programs are for middle school students, unique for a public school; all made possible bythe Islander Sports Foundation. The Foundation thanks all the coaches, volunteers and students for the great fall season of 2013.

But fall sports is not quite over yet, the girls lacrosse teams will be in action this weekend, season final playoff tournament. There could be another champion for fall according to coaches Megan Brydges and Greer Goebels.

The lacrosse girls showed the crowd last night a NADO LAX cheer!

Winter sports are starting soon, contact Middle School Athletic Director Rob Smith, [email protected]
