5 Questions with Cindy Reitmeyer – Owner of Coronado Bliss Salon & Spa
1. What is your connection to Coronado? Tell us your Coronado story.
My husband and I bought our home in the village in 2003. We are Zonie’s, starting out here part time.
Our “baby” Alexis went to Point Loma Nazarene University (Graduated 2009), she fell in love with a Navy man, and they were married at the Hotel del Coronado in 2009. We have been progressively more active in the Community, and staying here more and more, until one day I decided that, “I’m not going back to AZ”. Since our primary business (Asphalt Construction) is still active in AZ, my husband Bill, commutes each week. He catches the first flight out on Monday mornings, and returns on Wednesday or Thursday afternoons.
2. Why did you choose Coronado and this location on Orange Avenue?
“Choosing” Coronado was an easy decision for us. When our friends in AZ found out that we were in the market for a home in CA, they encouraged us to check out La Jolla, and Santa Barbara. Although we already knew our hearts belonged to Coronado, we drove down the main street of each of the other towns. Of course, they didn’t compare. The HEART of Coronado is what we love. When we decided to make Coronado our Primary Residence, it was a natural decision to want to be a part of the business community. We were Blessed to have such a Terrific Location at 930 Orange Ave. open up for us.
3. Describe Coronado Bliss Salon & Spa. What services and products will you offer?
Coronado Bliss Salon and Spa is an Aveda Lifestyle Salon and Spa. We offer complete hair services, as well as waxing, facials and massages. As an Aveda Lifestyle Salon, our products are exclusively Aveda. We offer Aveda Make Up, Skin Care, Hair Care, and Aveda Hair Color.
We also have a “Boutique” area where we have hair styling tools, jewelry, hair pieces, and fabulous chocolates.
4. What is unique about your business?
I believe what makes Coronado Bliss Salon and Spa unique, is what makes Coronado unique our heart. We genuinely are happy to be a part of this community Every team member. We are interested in building relationships with the community and our clients, that will last. We have a product (Aveda) that is of high quality and integrity. Aveda has very loyal customers. As a “Lifestyle” salon, we align our mission and philosophy with Aveda’s. Coronado Bliss and Aveda, it’s a Great Combination.
5. When you aren’t running the business, how do you enjoy your time away from the salon?
We spend much of our “Free Time” as members at the Club Cottage at the Hotel del Coronado. We love bike riding, and driving the Golf Cart around to admire all the lovely homes. My husband has recently taken up paddle boarding.
We also love taking our Grand-doggies 2 English bulldogs, to lunch along Orange Ave.
