Free Workshop on “Sugar Blues” at Coronado Home Harvest Sept. 18

Coronado Home Harvest, our free fruit, vegetable and flower exchange, is back September 18 in front of the Winn Room of the Coronado Public Library. The featured speaker this month is Elizabeth Hirsh of Whole Food Whole Health who is presenting a free, interesting and interactive workshop called “Sugar Blues”. It is on the destructive impact of sugar on our bodies as well as some tips on how to gradually start replacing sugar with nutritional foods that can heal and give long lasting energy to the body. This workshop also goes over techniques to spot hidden sugars, cravings as well as natural alternatives to sugar that we can use in our daily lives.

To participate in the exchange, it is a “bring a bag, get a bag” concept. Please bring your garden’s bounty between 8am and 10 am. If you don’t have a garden or can’t pick for a friend or neighbor, bring something homemade, but please package properly and list all ingredients for those who have allergies. Pick up bags full of an assortment of Coronado’s best between 11 and 12. The workshop will be in the Winn Room between 11 and 12, and you do not need to participate in the exchange to attend the workshop.
