At 2:44pm, the Coronado Police Department sent out this advisory message:
This morning at 10:19 a.m. we received a call from a staff member at Coronado High School reporting that they had just been made aware of a specific threat to the school and as a precaution they placed the campus on lockdown. Officers arrived on scene and with the help of school staff it was determined that the student who made the threat was not on campus today. The lockdown was lifted 30 minutes later. No weapons were found at the school.
The 16-year old male student was taken into custody without incident at his home in Coronado. He was booked into Juvenile Hall and charged with Criminal Threats.
We would like to thank those students who came forward with the original information. This is a great example of “see something, say something.”
