Nowhere to turn in recycling (for CRV refund) in Coronado

When the recycling center was removed from the Vons parking lot I thought it was just for the duration of the remodel. I found out tonight by reading signs posted at the Vons registers that the removal of the recycling center is permanent due to the state budget shortfall. When I visited the recycling center site at http://www.nexcyclecalifornia.com/ I typed in our zip code and sure enough, the closest recycling center is now over 5 miles away. There is no longer any place in Coronado to take bottles and cans and redeem them for the CRV we all pay when we purchase canned and bottles beverages. Is there anything the city can do about this? I am disappointed that the incentive for some people to recycle is gone and more recyclables may end up in garbage cans.
