Blueprint Cafe is a new place for lunch and afternoon drinks just over the bridge, a just blocks off the National Avenue exit in the location that used to house The Guild. Featuring a seasonally inspired menu, focused on tasty comfort food with a gourmet flair. The cafe also offers a selection of house-made desserts that pair well with locally roasted Cafe Moto coffee and tea. A casual, comfortable setting with indoor and outdoor dining makes it a great place to “do” lunch with friends, colleagues or business associates or to enjoy a glass from a small, but well-curated wine selection or a local Ballast Point Brewing Co. craft beer. From the patio you can see Petco Park as well as the Coronado Bridge. People thought it might be crazy to open a bistro-style cafe in Barrio Logan in the midst of a down economy but a steadily growing group of return customers hints that we may be onto something.
This February, chef/owner Gayle Covner moved the commercial catering kitchen for her her 20 years+ catering business to Barrio Logan and opened a casual dining spot in the front of the same location. She was excited by the opportunity to compliment the local dining experience with a fresh and flavorful menu including her signature “Chili-Lime Ceasar” salad with spicy grilled chicken, half pound Angus steak burgers and fabulous desserts, prepared in-house. In addition to a core menu, the chef has daily
specials that give her room to cook with seasonal ingredients and her inspiration.
Located in an architect-owned building, Blueprint Cafe is situation on a bright corner right between the bridge and downtown, exactly .1 miles off the I-5 and 2 block off Harbor Drive. Serving a full lunch menu to the public Monday-Friday from 11:30am to 6pm. Current menu is updated weekly on our website.
The space is available for birthdays, dinners and mixers seven evenings a week. Breakfast meetings are easily accommodated early weekday mornings with networking lunches, brunches and bridal showers Saturdays and Sundays. Table seating for up to 59, with standing room for up to 85. Ample on-street parking, air conditioning, outdoor/patio seating and handicapped accessible we are also licensed for beer and wine. Cuisine, provided by Covner’s In Good Taste Catering San Diego is matched to the event with a custom menu.
