Where to Watch Super Bowl XLVIII in Coronado

Though the San Diego Chargers haven’t made a Super Bowl appearance in nearly 20 years, Coronado never fails to celebrate with fun Super Bowl Sunday festivities. You can bet that any restaurant or bar that has a television set will have it tuned to the game.

Many of the sports-bars and restaurants around town will have special deals and menus on that Sunday, February 2. Village Pizzeria is offering $5 off large pizzas and $7 off giant pizzas, delivery or takeout only, as well as happy hour prices 3pm-close. They deliver to any location in Coronado and offer not only pizza but other football grub like buffalo wings, garlic fries, and mozzarella sticks. Lil’ Piggy’s is offering 10% off combo plates and family packs, takeout and delivery only. Piggy’s will also offer Happy Hour prices 3pm – close in store. McP’s Irish Pub and Grill will have Super Bowl festivities starting when they open at 11am. “Come watch the game with us!” they say, offering TVs at the bar as well as two screens on the outdoor patio. Their menu is packed with Super Bowl Sunday worthy food: potato skins, jalapeno poppers, and nachos galore. Costa Azul is offering their breakfast menu 11am-1pm and Happy Hour prices all day. Their Happy Hour menu offers well drinks and beer as low as $3.50 with snacks like nachos and tacos all under $10. Costa has three large screen televisions at the bar. Leroy’s Kitchen & Lounge will be serving brunch from 10am to 4pm. Social Hour prices will be offered throughout the game where, among other things, all 16 of their local draft beers are $5. Their food menus explore some twists on the usual football food. You could order truffled fries, a Bavarian pretzel served with beer cheese, poke tacos, or white cheddar and bacon mac n’ cheese to name a few. TV in bar area. Watching the game at Nicky Rottens Bar & Burger Joint could give you the experience of being at MetLife stadium without the New Jersey cold. You won’t miss a thing as the game will be shown on all 16 of their screens, 14 TVs and two large projector screens. They are offering wing and beer specials throughout the game.

Though restaurants and bars offer delicious, convenient, social, and, enjoyably, appropriately loud environments on game day, there is something to say about watching the game from the comfort of your own couch. If you are planning to watch the game on your own, regular sized television, here are some easy recipes for yummy football food! Kick off for Super Bowl XLVIII is at 3:30pm and will air on the Fox network.
