CSF’s Summer Enrichment Registration Now Open!

Registration is now open for Coronado Schools Foundation’s (CSF) 2019 Summer Enrichment Program featuring hands-on STEAM-inspired classes for students, grades TK-12. This educationally focused program offers two, one-week sessions with some classes offered over both weeks. Enroll online now through May 15th to save $20 per class!

Classes are held from 8:30 to 11:30 am and 12:00 to 3:00 pm with most classes at Village Elementary School. There will be a supervised lunch period from 11:30-12:00 for students taking both morning and afternoon classes.

Most classes are taught by credentialed Coronado Unified teachers with Steve Reiss, a local expert, teaching SAT/ACT, and Excelsior Chess offering Chess Camp. Class sizes are small with experienced teachers at the helm, planning and executing the curriculum.

Summer Classes With An Academic Focus

“Our program is unique in that it incorporates academic principles within fun and creative classes that bring children back year after year,” noted Kathy Shady, Summer Enrichment Principal and Village Elementary teacher with her administrative credential. “New this year are highly requested classes like Spanish, new Science offerings, Robotics, CodingDance, and Beginning Piano. All proceeds benefit Coronado’s public schools since CSF directly supports Coronado Unified academics and technology,” she added.

Some of the returning classes that sell out quickly include Game, Set, Math and Tennis (grades 1-3 & grades 4-6), Forensics (grade 1-3 & grades 4-6), Three Cheers for Engineers, Winner Winner Chef Dinner, and Island Detectives, made possible by a partnership with Coronado Historical Association. Get a jump start on the transition to 6-8th grade with Navigating Middle School and college applications with Common Application. Little ones entering TK or kindergarten in the fall will enjoy Jump, Start, Kindergarten and new this year, Sing, Dance, Create, taught by Village Elementary School’s Visual and Performing Arts teacher Cynthia Fuhrmann.
