Space Available in the 92118 Lawn Bowling Event

92118 Day is a celebration of all things Coronado that will take place on September 21, 2018. It’s also the zip code for Coronado! Entry to the event is free and is intended for the residents of Coronado. There is still space available to enter the Lawn Bowling Tournament to be held at the John D. Spreckels Center Bowling Green (1019 7th Street) and earn the “Bragging Rights for 100 Years” for bowling on that day.

The Mini Tournament will take place from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and will include a commemorative medal for the winning team. To play in this free event, you must have a little lawn bowling playing experience. That means that you have had a Free Lesson, attended Twilight Open Bowling or Hot August Nights Smash Attack at least once, bowled at a private party event, or bowled in an event such as the Rotary versus Optimists or Optimist Sports Fiesta. The experience need not be extensive and will accommodate novice versus novice teams. The format is Pairs, teams of 2 against 2 and will consist of three 4-end games that will take place in the 2-hour block of time.

To register for this free event, send the names of your team (2 players) to [email protected] with “92118” in the subject line or call the Coronado Lawn Bowling Club for additional information 619-319-5509.

You can also sign up as an individual and you will be paired with someone who has also signed up. Sorry, but no brand-new players (never tried it) but if you want to have these bragging rights of bowling on Coronado’s 83-year old Green on 92118 Day, call now for a Free Lesson 619-319-5509. The next opportunity will be on September 21, 2118!!
