Coronado Toll Plaza – Redesign Concept illustrations

Coronado Toll Plaza - Redesign Concept illustrations
The Art Deco influenced design is continuos from your approach into the plaza to the split between 3rd and 4th street. The plaza office roofing is a scale pattern made of recycled metal materials. The existing columns around the office and upper roof A/C cover will also made from recycled metals to be formed into a deco design. The wing itself is supported by 4 large columns. Those will be wrapped with a built out design of stone and stucco. The front, back and upper halo is a lighting effect design that will be enclosed behind colored glass and a spanish/deco metal detailed design. As you drive through to the split between 3rd & 4th you’ll see a triangle type area with the Coronado sign. This area now becomes a custom water feature design. I’ve designed something truly extraordinary for this fountain area. Not yet displayed due to artistic reasons. There will be a deco designed stamped concrete wall divider and will also be the walls that hold the water for the fountain. On top of the short wall will be a thick green acrylic with a Art Deco wave etched into the sides.
