At the beginning of San Diego CIF Fall sports, U T San Diego named forty four local high school female golfers to the “golfers to watch list”. It’s down to two now, one is CHS Islander Cara Barker!
Cara is in the finals today for the City Match Play Championship ! Cara is a leader of a talented pool of Coronado golfers, last year the Boys Varsity team won a CIF Championship, first in 49 years. The Coronado Middle School golf program is developing young talent under coaches Randy Coutts and CHS Alumnus Brian Smock. Brian Smock has an incredible new instruction offer for local golfers starting November 1, check it out at his site.

The CHS Girls Golf team will continue in team CIF play next week at Admiral Baker, then on to State regional tournament after that. This Islander Icon foursome from the 1st Annual Islander Invitational last July are with you all the Cara, along with the rest of Islander nation!
