FILM FORUM CORONADO: “Loves of a Blonde”

Coronado Public Library, in partnership with the Coronado Island Film Festival, presents FILM FORUM CORONADO, taking place the first and third Wednesday of each month at 6pm in the library’s Winn Room. Film expert Ralph DeLauro provides a brief introduction to each film and leads a discussion afterwards, often including pointers about how lighting or camera angles contribute to a scene’s mood or propel the story.
October 19: Loves of a Blonde (1966, 90 min, Czech with English subtitles)
A beguiling blend of humor and heartbreak, this fresh and funny satire of generational restlessness from Milos Forman was a high point of the Czech New Wave. A naïve girl from a provincial industrial town is seduced by a rakish piano player and journeys from the first pangs of love to eventual disappointment.
