FILM FORUM CORONADO: “The Birds”

Coronado Public Library, in partnership with the Coronado Island Film Festival, presents FILM FORUM CORONADO, taking place the first and third Wednesday of each month at 6 pm in the library’s Winn Room. Film expert Ralph DeLauro provides a brief introduction to each film and leads a discussion afterwards, often including pointers about how lighting or camera angles contribute to a scene’s mood or propel the story.

March 25: The Birds (1963, PG-13, 119 min)

Alfred Hitchcock’s elaborate tease bristles with terror as the peaceful town of Bodega Bay descends into chaos when a massive avian onslaught attacks without warning. A bored socialite (Tippi Hedren) and a self-righteous lawyer (Rod Taylor) are thrust into the thick of mother nature’s revolt. With Suzanne Pleshette, Jessica Tandy and Veronica Cartwright.
