SAN DIEGO — The Coast Guard is investigating a report of tar balls of washing up on a beach in Coronado. Shortly after 3 p.m. Saturday, the Coast Guard was notified by the Coronado lifeguards of the tar balls in the surf zone and washing up on the beach. The lifeguards then requested all bathers to exit the water. A Coast Guard pollution investigator is taking samples. The balls range quarter-sized to about six inches. The Coronado Fire Department, Lifeguards and the Coast Guard are all working with the National Response Corporation (NRC) to remove the tar balls. Read the entire story at 10news.com.
