Ron’s Garage To Provide Musical Backdrop For ‘A Taste of Coronado’

Ron’s Garage has built an incredible following over the years as Coronado’s greatest house band. They will perform at McP’s Wednesday, Oct. 15, from 7-11 p.m. for “A Taste of Coronado.” Photo by Joe Ditler.

A TASTE OF CORONADO AND A LITTLE MUSIC TOO …

The venerable old Irish Pub, McP’s, will provide live entertainment to help add to the festivities at “A Taste of Coronado.” Coronado’s favorite house band, Ron’s Garage, will perform on the patio of McP’s Irish Pub Wednesday, October 15, from 7-11 p.m. “A Taste of Coronado” runs from 5-9 p.m.

“We’re very excited to participate in ‘A Taste of Coronado’,” said Greg McPartlin, the former Navy SEAL and the legendary founder and owner of McP’s. “I know we’ll get a lot of regulars and locals attending, but we look forward to meeting new customers and introducing them to our particular blend of Irish fare, and that includes listening to Coronado’s greatest band – Ron’s Garage.”

The iconic corned beef sandwich will be one of the treats served guests during “A Taste of Coronado.”

The Coronado Junior Woman’s Club hosts “A Taste of Coronado” each year as a way to showcase the city of Coronado. Attendees pay a flat fee for tickets that provide a unique tasting opportunity.

Participants can walk to participating restaurants or ride a bike to experience each eatery’s finest in food and ambience. Like a Passport, each ticket gets stamped as you make your way through this Coronado gastronomic adventure. There is also free transportation to help move people the length of Orange Avenue.

Mulligan Stew will also be served at “A Taste of Coronado.”

Restaurants don’t pay to be involved, but close to 600 tastes of prearranged menu items will be served to the public. It’s become an annual tradition in Coronado. McP’s Irish Pub will serve mini-Mulligan Stew, served in small bread bowls. They will also serve their traditional corned beef sandwiches. The full restaurant and bar will be open throughout the event, as well as the dog-friendly patio where Ron’s Garage will be performing.
