Viva Mexico! Explore Rituals, Customs, and Heroes

May 6 @ 1:30 pm - 2:45 pm PDT

Viva Mexico! Rituals, Customs, and Heroes is a fascinating presentation that delves into the rich traditions, folklore, and historical events of Mexico’s annual celebrations. From the vibrant commemorations of Mexican Independence in September to the deeply symbolic Día de los Muertos in November, this engaging session will explore the pre-Columbian beliefs that shaped Mexico’s cultural identity and the pivotal moments that led to its independence from Spanish rule.

Leading the presentation is Raquel, a talented designer and art historian with a profound passion for Mexican culture. With 13 years of experience as a docent at the Mingei International Museum in Balboa Park, she has guided countless visitors through the world of Mexican folk art and traditions. Raquel also curates cultural trips to Mexico, offering travelers a deeper connection to the country’s history, artistry, and customs.
