Beyond the Verdict: an author event with Jacqueline Friedland & Rosa Kwon Easton

Join the Coronado Public Library and Adventures by the Book as two former attorneys turned bestselling writers, Jacqueline Friedland and Rosa Kwon Easton, share a discussion inspired by their respective novels Breathing Under Water and Red Seal. Jacqueline and Rosa will share the complexities of family dynamics and human connection as they immerse us in powerful stories about sacrifice, displacement, and endurance. The evening also marks the official publication day of Rosa’s Red Seal. This event will include an audience Q&A and a book signing.

Jacqueline Friedland is the USA Today and Amazon bestselling author of both historical and contemporary women’s fiction. A graduate of NYU Law School, she practiced as a commercial litigator for as long as she could stand it. She then returned to school to earn her Masters of Fine Arts in creative writing and has been writing ever since. Jacqueline’s books have been awarded gold medals in fiction from Readers’ Favorite. Her novels have also been named the 2021 Kirkus Reviews Best Indie Book of the Year, the SheReads Best Book Club Pick of 2021, and the Women’s Fiction Writers Association Star finalist for 2022.

Rosa Kwon Easton is a Korean American lawyer, a library trustee, and the author of White Mulberry, a #1 Amazon Reads bestseller in historical fiction. Rosa is a graduate of Columbia University and Boston College Law School, an Anaphora Writing Residency Fellow, and her work has appeared in CRAFT Literary, Electric Literature, Writer’s Digest, and elsewhere. After her second child was born, Rosa decided to set aside practicing law for a while to raise her children and become more active in her community. It was then that she started exploring writing workshops and retreats, and attended literary programs.
