FILM FORUM CORONADO: “Fear in the Night”

June 17 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm PDT

Free

Coronado Public Library, in partnership with the Coronado Island Film Festival, presents FILM FORUM CORONADO, taking place the first and third Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m. in the library’s Winn Room. Film expert Ralph DeLauro provides a brief introduction to each film and leads a discussion afterwards, often including pointers about how lighting or camera angles contribute to a scene’s mood or propel the story.

June 17: Fear in the Night (1947, PG, 75 min)

Maxwell Shane’s pulpy potboiler features Deforrest Kelley (Star Trek) in his film debut as a bank teller who awakens from a nightmare believing he has committed a murder. Was it only a dream? This tight and tidy thriller was re-made by the same director in a film called Nightmare with Edward G. Robinson and Kevin McCarthy.
