Soccer: CHS Girls Win First Game Against Mountain Empire, 4-1

Last Wednesday, the Girls’ Varsity Soccer team started their season with a game against Mountain Empire High School. “Games at the beginning of the season require the team to become familiar with new players, new positions, and how the personality of play will develop,” says Coach Mike Costaglio. Freshman Riley McGrath adapted well to her new team and assisted each of the four goals scored by Coronado. These were scored by junior Sydney Neibert, sophomore Amelia Hawley, and two by sophomore Gracie Gehler. The final score of the match was 4-1, and the Islanders start their season 1-0.

“I was proud of how the team played together this early in the season,” comments Coach Costaglio.

Upcoming Games:
  • Tuesday, November 27 vs. Sage Creek High School @ 5:30 PM (Home)
  • Thursday, November 29 vs. Otay Mesa High School @ 5:30 PM (Home)
