Stand Up to Prevent Falls
One in three adults over the age of 65 will fall this year. For many, these falls can result in life changing injuries, yet most falls can be prevented with just a few easy steps. Join the Spreckels Center and the San Diego Fall Prevention Task Force for a special presentation about reducing risks, taking practical steps for prevention and discussing methods to get up safely. Southern Caregiver Resource Center will discuss tips for caregiving through holidays, including strategies to make them enjoyable for everyone and how to overcome the “holiday blues.” Learn how to reduce stress for you and your loved ones during the holidays and other special occasions. “Human Gene Editing: The Ethical Debate in Social Context”
In the last few years, new technologies have made the modification of the genetic qualities of the human species possible. This streaming lecture will describe the current ethical debate about human gene editing in light of similar debates going back to the early twentieth century.
